A significant milestone in rural infrastructure development was marked through the successful Turn Over Ceremony of the Concreting of the Kitacubong–Paruayan Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) in Brgy. Kitacubong, Alamada, Cotabato. The project, valued at Php 23,894,933.84, demonstrates the strong collaboration among the DTI RAPID Growth Project, DILG Region XII, the Local Government Unit of Alamada, and community stakeholders in promoting sustainable development and improving market access for rural communities.
The ceremony formally commenced with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by an opening message from Vice Mayor Victor Sacdalan, who highlighted the importance of infrastructure investments in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life of local residents.
Messages of support and commitment were delivered by DTI Region XII Regional Director Flora D. Politud-Gabunales, CESO III; DTI Cotabato Province Provincial Director Robert A. Orfrecio; DILG Region XII Assistant Regional Director Engr. Samuel Camaganakan; and Alamada Mayor Jesus M. Sacdalan. Their messages underscored the government's commitment to enhancing rural connectivity, strengthening agricultural value chains, and improving the livelihood opportunities of farming communities.
Acceptance messages were delivered by Punong Barangay Nelson B. Palomero, ABC President; Purok 17 and 19 Leader Erwin Aba; and Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) representatives Mercy Abrenilla and June Selvano. They expressed their gratitude for the project and emphasized its positive impact on the daily lives of residents and farmers.
The program concluded with closing remarks from MLGOO VI Sarah Alamada, who emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration among government agencies, local leaders, and community members in ensuring that development initiatives continue to benefit future generations.
The newly concreted Farm-to-Market Road is expected to significantly improve transportation and accessibility for residents and farmers in Brgy. Paruayan, Brgy. Malitubog, and Brgy. Bao. By facilitating the efficient movement of agricultural products, strengthening market linkages, and reducing transportation costs, the project will help create greater economic opportunities and contribute to the long-term development of the community.
