The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the RAPID Growth Project continues to advance coffee development efforts in Sultan Kudarat through ongoing field validation and monitoring activities aimed at ensuring the success of coffee farm expansion and rehabilitation initiatives among farmer-beneficiaries.

On April 15–16, 2026, RAPID Growth Project field validators from the Provincial Coordinating Unit (PCU) of Sultan Kudarat conducted simultaneous site visits to four farmer organizations in the municipalities of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Kalamansig, and Lebak. The activity forms part of the project’s commitment to closely monitor investments and provide continuous support to coffee-growing communities.

During the field visits, the team assessed the progress of coffee farms established and rehabilitated through project-supported interventions, including the provision of quality seedlings and farm tools. Validators also checked the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) promoted through the project’s training and capability-building activities, ensuring that farmers are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to sustain and improve their production.

Initial observations highlighted the ongoing efforts of farmer-beneficiaries to nurture their coffee plantations and apply recommended farm management practices. These validation activities provide valuable insights that help guide technical assistance and reinforce the long-term sustainability of project investments.

More than supporting farm expansion, the RAPID Growth Project delivers comprehensive assistance across the coffee value chain—from production and post-harvest handling to market linkage and product promotion. Through regular field engagement and monitoring, the project helps strengthen farmers’ capacities, improve coffee quality, increase productivity, and create greater income opportunities for coffee-growing communities in Sultan Kudarat.
